TThe TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks brings IMSA racing to hallowed ground. Two hours of flat-out competition at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where sports cars trade paint on the same asphalt — and the same legendary strip of bricks — that has defined American motorsport for over a century.
About the Race
The Indianapolis road course weaves the infield's technical sections together with portions of the famous oval, creating a layout unlike anything else on the schedule. Its 2.439 miles and 14 corners mix tight, low-speed complexes with long full-throttle stretches, forcing teams into a genuine compromise on setup: downforce for the infield, or straight-line speed for the banking and the front straight.
Two hours here rewards the crews who get that balance right. Braking zones are heavy, the surface offers little runoff, and slower traffic on the narrow infield sections can undo a good stint in a single lap. Add the emotional weight of racing past the Yard of Bricks and the pressure on every driver climbs another notch.
Lone Star Racing at Indianapolis
For the 2026 season, Lone Star Racing Team will contest the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks in the No. 80 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the GTD class — targeting a strong result on one of the most storied circuits in the world as the championship enters its decisive stretch.
