Indianapolis 8 Hour Overview
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host the Indianapolis 8 Hour, an Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli sports car championship race Oct. 9-11, 2026, in conjunction with its North American series, GT World Challenge America.
About the Race
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is known also as “the Brickyard”. It gets its name from a 1909 resurfacing project, when 3.2 million street paving bricks were laid to form the track surface. On the current asphalt circuit, one yard of the historic brickwork is exposed at the start-finish line. Consisting of a 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course configuration, the Indianapolis 8 Hour is the most demanding motorsport event of the year for Pirelli North America.
Lone Star Racing at Indianapolis
For the 2026 season, Lone Star will drive the No. 80 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
