Dan Knox

Dan Knox brings race-winning experience into Lone Star Racing.  He made is racing debut in a T1 Viper with SCCA in 2001 and went on to score his first victory in just his third start.  He has also competed in Viper Days, NARRA GTU, and the 2013 SRT Viper Cup earning two race wins and multiple podiums with runner-up honors in both NARRA championships.  In 2014, Dan Knox formed Lone Star Racing and began competition in the Pirelli World Challenge earning the first class win for the Dodge Viper GT3-R in North America.  His 2014 Detroit Grand Prix win was followed up with a 2nd place the following day.  He finished the 2014 Championship 10th overall in the points standings and 3rd in the GT-A class.  2015 saw Dan return to PWC with the Viper GT3-R and battle through adversity with several Top-5 finishes before leaving the series to enter the IMSA GT-Daytona class event at Circuit of The Americas.  Dan teamed with Marc Goosens for a 7th place debut finish in IMSA.  In 2016 Dan returned to IMSA for a selected sprint race schedule.  Dan and LSR finished a season best 8th place at Circuit of The Americas.  Next they took the Viper GT3-R for a final race with Pirelli World Challenge at Laguna Seca and finished 2nd in their first Sprint X race after leading late in the race.  Dan changed to a Mercedes AMG GT3 for the 2017 season in the WeatherTech IMSA GT-Daytona class.  The team finished a season high 11th at VIR against factory GT3 teams.   When not at the track you can find Dan enjoying one of his many hobbies including flying, shooting, hunting, and tending to his ranch.
